#1. Tell us a little about You. What do you do for fun when you are not riding?
Born in 1965, I’m originally from a small town called Livingston, New Jersey not far from New York City. I was a Union Carpenter/Cabinetmaker in my early twenties with a calling for something more out of life. I joined the Navy in 1988 to become a Navy SEAL, I attended Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) Training and graduated in Class 161 and spent a twenty-year career as a SEAL Team member, retiring as a Commander. I remain connected to the Navy SEAL Community working as needed/available supporting Naval Special Warfare in the area of Undersea Mobility/Operations. I’m the owner/operator of Indian Motorcycle of Southeastern Virginia (A dealership in Newport News, VA). I also currently serve as the franchised powersports dealer representative on the Virginia Motor Vehicle Dealer Board, nominated by Governor Glenn Younkin and appointed by the Virginia State Legislature in 2024. In my spare time I like to, workout, meditate, motorcycle ride, travel and scuba dive.
#2. Why do you want to ride the HHMC?
I really enjoy racking-up mileage on motorcycles alone, with others, and on group rides (I refer to it as my wind-therapy). I feel the HHMC presents you with many puzzles to solve along the journey, it’s fun to throw a bunch of problems at a lot of sleep deprivation and see where things land. It reminds me of BUD/S “Hell Week,” you end up with a lot of very funny stories and memories. I am blessed with my wonderful wife Cecilia that refers to me as “her gift from God.” However, I’m immeasurably blessed with her in my life, with my faith, my great family, and my friends. The HHMC allows me to refocus inwardly, grow, and enjoy a very spiritual experience (yes, on a motorcycle).
#3. What are your expectations entering a challenge such as the HHMC?
This will be my 4th HHMC. I only ever desire to finish safely, and I pray that all the other riders finish safely. I look forward to the continued life-long bonding with the HHMC community of riders with shared experiences of adversity, enjoyment and accomplishment.
#4. What is the best advice you have been given about riding the HHMC?
Prepare for it, pack only what you need, and enjoy it.
#5. Did you have to overcome any obstacles to ride the challenge?
Physically a lot of neck/back/spine issues and a broken back from a military parachuting accident, and a 20-year career as a Navy SEAL. I completely stopped riding from 2006-2013 due to physical issues. I’m blessed to be physically able to participate in the 2026 HHMC.
#6. How did you hear about the HHMC?
Scott Bradley (HHMC 2020 Rider #1000S), as he was shopping for the right bike for the HHMC back in 2020. When I learned more about it, I knew this is something I must do.
#7. What was it you heard about the HHMC that attracted you to want to ride such a tough challenge?
As I worked for months with Scott Bradley to identify the right motorcycle for him, I thought of an idea to get him and Will Ariaza (HHMC 2020 Rider #1000W) a pair of all-new Deepwater Blue 2020 Indian Challengers. Indian Motorcycle decided to provide two brand new motorcycles for them and a 3rd motorcycle for me. Everything started to connect, I read every bit of information about the HHMC and I could not wait until the next one in 2022. I enjoyed the 2020, 2022, and 2024 HHMC’s thoroughly and after 2026 I hopefully can participate again in 2028, God-willing). It’s a great honor being selected to participate and to be able to continue to participate.
#8. What non-profit are you supporting and why did you choose them?
The Give to Give Foundation. I’ve been blessed with two scholarships by the Foundation for a five-day basic retreat and then a seven-day advanced retreat. The basic retreat set the template to learn how to regulate emotions, and how to live in “creation” and not unsustainably in “survival.” The advanced retreat is the transformation! I never really thought about or understood a lot of the science behind how I exist and interact in our three-dimensional world. Beyond this three-dimensional world where we interact with all our senses, is the “quantum field,” and it’s real. I feel like an idiot for not knowing what I know now which only took me 60 years to figure out… I can’t explain it, nor should I. I’m just trying to live as an example for others to explore when/if they’re ready. My fundraising goal for Veterans is: $250K.
