Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge 2026
Ride for a Cause. Support the Journey. Change a Life.
There are moments when a man answers a call…
Not to escape life — but to meet it more fully.
In 2025, Navy SEAL Veteran Brian Losey (pictured to the right) introduced Navy SEAL Veteran Ed Maulbeck (pictured below) to the Give to Give Foundation’s, Valkyrie Retreat Program. Ed in-turn introduced Brian to the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge.
This August, these two Navy SEAL Veterans will answer the call and take on the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge™ — one of the most demanding motorcycle endurance challenges in the world.
A journey of 11,000+ miles.
No GPS.
No shortcuts.
No room for error.
Only discipline, purpose… and heart.
What is the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge?
Beginning August 2nd, 2026, in Woodstock, Illinois, Challengers will receive the route to the first check point 15 minutes before departure — generally there are three check points that are 2,500 to 3,000 miles apart. To successfully complete the Challenge, Challengers must navigate entirely by the written instructions provided only.
They will ride across:
- Mountain ranges
- Indian Reservations
- National forests and parks
- Deserts, swamps, and some of the most challenging roads in North America
Riders must:
- Follow the exact route (no deviations)
- Correct any/all navigation errors before continuing
- Obey traffic laws and report any moving violation (a moving violation is a disqualification)
- Sleep on or beside their motorcycle only
- Endure 10–20 days of physical, mental, and emotional challenge
This year’s theme is KTENTOWSHKETON MNOPMATSOWEN (Den-do-skit-don Nope-maht-so-when) which roughly translates to: “Try to Live a Good Life.”
